It's not very difficult to build a spi flash interface using old school parallel port. should theoretically be possible to dump the spi chip, modify the contents and then reflash. Im not sure what's in your unit but if they used a SPI flash chip like in the gen 1's. then look at a broken laptop or go with a PI enough to get the job done and that's about it.Īny p4+ rescued off the side of the road/trash is going to be faster/better and cost you no money except to adapt the monitor or replace it which you could get a used lcd monitor for a few bucks from most thrift stores.
